About

The Texas Pigeon Association was founded in 1908 by a group of pigeon fanciers with the goal of promoting excellence in pigeon breeding by holding competitive exhibitions. Our first pigeon show was at the State Fair of Texas and we continue this 97 year old tradition in 2003 on October 18.

Originally there were only five breeds shown – all utility breeds. In the late 1960s the Fancy Pigeon Club of Fort Worth merged into the TPA and by the early 1970s our shows began to reflect this broader base of interest with more breeds being added.

We have become a club for fanciers of all breeds – utility, performing and fancy – from the most popular to the rarest.

Currently we have approximately 100 members.

We hope you’ll join us in our efforts to enjoy and promote the fascinating endeavor of owning, breeding and showing pigeons. We look forward to seeing you at our meetings and shows!
